Had a day larking about with my youngest daughter Georgia at Humber Bridge county park.
It has been such a long time since I posted anything to the blog. Life has taken different turns so the photography has taken a bit of a back seat. Over the next month I am planning more photos that I have not had chance to blog about.
So here is my 1st blog of the year. And nearly a year since I last blogged. Spent the weekend up at Whitby and photographed some of the goths and surround landscape. The weather was better than this time last year. Was nice to see a few family faces.
I will be posting a few more shots on face book. Will put the link on when I get them uploaded.
I have been looking for inspiration over the last few months. I have looked at urban sketching and Daisy Yellow Index Card A Day. Here are my 1st attempts I have done over the last 2 weeks.
Sat at a barbeque looking for something to sketch and surrounded by bunting for the Queens Jubilee

Spent all day weeding garden. Quick sketch done with fineliners and watercolours. Overdid it with pentel brush pen. Should learn when to stop.

Spent the morning at Hornsea with local photographer Gavin Prest. He had organised a publicity photo-shoot for Hornsea Inshore Rescue. They are a rescue team based at Hornsea’s south beach. They are an independent rescue service crewed by volunteers and funded by charitable donations. There website is here: http://www.hornsearescue.org.uk/index.html
More photos from the day are on my Facebook page.
Had the chance to shoot a local Steampunk group at Hull’s Street Life Museum. For a midweek meetup there was plenty of people who turned up. All wearing Steampunk garb, googles. And a few with punked nerf guns.
Thanks to Shevek Chaz Moore,Terry Dunn, Leigh Spence, Betty Banzai, Ron Shatall and his wife, and Caroline Sweeney

Covered my 1st Cosplay and gaming expo this week. Platform2012 was held at Hull University in three separate Halls. Most of my time was spent in the Cosplay and retro gaming hall. The event was held over two days, with various workshops for Cosplay, manga art and game design.
The whole weekend showcased some of the very talent people of Hull, varying from the live art to 3d game design. A table had been set up to encourage visitors to have a go at drawing and sketching. The paper had been started last year and several visitors could see their work from last year. The paper roll shall return at Platform2013.
Several of the workshops for cos-players and manga art I had the oppotunity to attend. The workshops showed cos-players an introduction into cos-play and how to make their own outfits, workshops for costume design where conducted by Missy Tetra.
